My Baseball Team

Let me preface this by saying that I absolutely love being a coach. That said this has been a really rough inaugural season as a coach. When I was first asked to do it by Brian I thought we were just going to be a powerhouse type team. Come to find out we are not really as great as I had hoped or as we had been told in the first place. As soon as the season started I was told to watch out for the parental politics. I told him straight up I dont do politics I play the players that give us the best chance at winning. I feel as though I have stuck to my guns pretty well throughout the season although we still have a losing record. Brian and I can see how far the kids have come as players and understanding the game, but we still are having a tough time competing. It is very frustrating b/c I feel like I am failing the kids and tack onto that the fact that I am always on the run leaving no time for being home. Amy and I have been married for nearly five years now, but the time that I have invested is still not good for a relationship. It is like being in school all over again. We have decided that if we have a team next year, Brian and I will sit down and evaluate the talent level of each kid before we decide if we actually want to put ourselves through the rigors of coaching. If we feel as though we may have a team we have also decided that Amy and Erin (my sis) will be in charge of putting together practices. This way if we have more control over our team. Got more to say on this, but I am watching the fight.
