"Style Points"

If you are a Pokes fan (as I am) it was another rough game, although I was impressed with how we hung in there and kept fighting. I just wish we could have found a way to stop the aerial attack of Bradford and company. At least I had good company to watch the game with (even if he's a sooner). By the end of the game I was convinced to two things: Brent Musburger has a huge crush on Beyonce and he wanted to see how many times he could use the phrase "Style Points" in one game. Oh well...there's always next year.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving snuck up on me this year and I cant believe that it is already over. That means that Christmas is right around the corner and I am totally not ready for that either. I think that as I am getting older time is just passing by at an incredible rate. The good news about that is before I know it I will be holding our newborn!

Back to Thanksgiving. I received lots of well wishes via text messaging, and I would have responded sooner had I known where my phone was. I somehow managed to lose my ballcap and phone throughout the course of the day. Luckily that evening I managed to recover both. So if I did not write back please know it is not b/c I was not appreciative, I just lose everything.

Hope everyone is enjoying their 4 day weekend...I know I am.

Winter Wonderslam

So I just got back from Winter Wonderslam and got to see Toby Mac and Relient K. It was pretty awesome. Erin is in the hospital with a staph infection and we thought it would be better for Amy to stay home since she is still in the early stages of pregnancy. So I asked by brother in law and his wife if they wanted to go. I knew I had pretty decent seats but I got there and they were 4th row (behind the mosh pit). It was awesome, but pretty loud. My ears are still ringing.

Close Call

So Amy awoke me at about 1 AM. She was crying and saying she had some of the symptoms that she had experienced with the miscarriage. Obviously we were both upset, I told her to try and relax and we would go see the doc in the morning. We woke up this morning and the doctor's office was gracious enough to squeeze us in. The nurse practicioner examined Amy and said that she did not see anything to indicate a miscarriage but she wanted to get an ultrasound done. She said if we could see a heartbeat we were in good shape. So this is what we saw with a perfectly normal heartbeat (thank the Lord):

Praying for Obama

Let me preface this post by saying I voted for John McCain. With that in mind I want to be behind the leader of this nation. I feel that George Bush received far too much heat while he was in the office. From the day he got in office he was being criticized for going to Camp David, the economy, his inability to say nuclear, and anything else that he did wrong. I felt sad that he was being solely blamed for the problems with the U.S. Dont get me wrong, I think there are some matters that he could have handled better, but I think he was a scapegoat more often than he should have been. After a while people were saying things like I am leaving the country, I am embarassed by America, and making negative remarks about the stupidity of Mr. Bush. Even at his lowest of lows I supported Mr. Bush b/c I think in his mind he was trying to do what was best for America.

I think Mr. Obama will be no different. I think that he will have America's best interests in mind when he is making decisions and I will support Mr. Obama the same way that I did with Mr. Bush. As with any president, the only thing that would deter my support of a president is if they are making decisions that are not in accordance with scripture. I think this could be a possibility with this president, however I will be praying for him and supporting him until such decisions are made. Even if I dont support all of Mr. Obama's decisions I would never say that I am ashamed of America or I am leaving the country. I think we are looking so hard at party lines (Republican/Democrat) and namecalling (on multiple occasions I have heard Mr. Bush called idiot) that we are losing focus of what is really important and that at the end of the day we are all Americans. Good luck to you Mr. Obama and know that this country needs you to bring us together. God Bless America.

P.S. Vote for Bryan 2012 (hehe)
