So it has been a couple of weeks since my sister got married. I thought the wedding was awesome and thought I would share some stories from the wedding. . Before the ceremony began the groom's quarters were rocking as the time approached. Everyone huddled up and Brian gave all of his groomsmen hugs and a prayer was said for the couple. We all started clapping and broke it out like we were about to play a baseball game, it was fun.
My mom and Ruth (Brian's mom) were responsible for lighting 2 candles that would be used as the unity candle. I was chosen to usher the two mom's to do this. Ruth was having trouble getting the candle to light, poor thing, she must have tried for a good 5 minutes. Anyways I started to realize that the music was fading out and the next song was starting (which was a cue that it was time for the groomsmen to come down). I said we were going to just have to forget about it. I dont know if anyone noticed anyways. Alex (the ringbearer) was told before the whole shindig started that if he was good he would get a brand new Ironman game, so all throughout the service he was on his best behavior. It was funny though b/c all throughout the ceremony he kept asking me if he could have his game now. I did pretty well throughout the wedding and I think a part of the reason was because I was in charge of Alex. Erin's eyes did catch mine at one point and I almost lost it so I looked down for a second and recomposed myself and all was good again. As the final I do's were said I pulled out Alex's spiderman sunglasses and all of the groomsmen pulled out their sunglasses as James Brown's "I Feel Good" started blaring from the speakers.
The whole wedding was like something straight from a movie. I think everyone had a really good time and I feel especially privileged to gain a brother in law that I can honestly call one of my best friends.
